Hihi
Well, I haven't felt like writing lately, in fact I haven't felt like doing much really. I could just write that this month was roughly the same as last month with slightly different things on slightly different dates. But I guess I should put in the effort...
The Good
My little monkey-man turned 4! He's been waiting for so long and so patiently, as have his invited guests (his friends, some random people at the shopping centre, the cockroach, the bit of fluff in the laundry etc). His party was at Playdays Barrack Heights and he played soccer with his friends. It was quite amusing watching 3-6 year olds running around with the co-ordinater trying in vain to keep it organised. They had fun and got to burn off some steam. Cassandra made sure there was plenty of healthy food. She blogged about the cake which was a James Tank Engine - he really liked it and still talks about it.
Alz turned 30 as well and we went to his party. Callum struggled a bit to fit in with the older kids at the party but it was a good social interaction opportunity for him. I saw Alastair's mum for the first time in like 500 years. It was quite weird bringing the family along as I can still remember quite clearly the days spent at Alz's place during our school years. I don't think it would have occurred to me all those years ago that I would be bringing my wife, 4 year old and 4 month old to his 30th, to meet Narelle for the first time.
The girls turned various twenty-somethings and we went out to Hog's Breath for dinner to celebrate and cash in their free steaks for the boys. Callum loves the curly fries there (it's the only place he'll eat chips). Annabelle has been quiet and content in her stroller there too, so it makes it a little less stressful than a normal going out event.
G&J had their engagement party at the Aviator restaurant at Albion Park. It was a good day except Mum flaked out with a weak excuse and Dad had a migraine. Amanda couldn't make it due to it being too soon after her coming back from overseas. Aunty Josie and Uncle Peter were too unwell to travel up, and Grandma couldn't make it either has Teo had to get some medical tests done. So the numbers on the King/Andonov side were a little thin but at least we were there with Dad on behalf of, well, everyone.
They had this amazing cake thing that was basically sugar holding form. At first glance I was dissapointed with the size of my allocated portion but by the end of it my belly was begging for mercy! Mmmmmnnn argle argle. Oh, and Grant asked me to be one of "The Dudes" at the wedding so that will be cool!
Isaac had his 4th birthday party at Tiger's Putt-Putt which for Callum was just about the best day ever save for his own party. He had heaps of fun and got his face painted like a tiger. It's nice to see him when he is happy.
We had Evan, Jo and Bethany over for dinner the other night, which was a great excuse for Rebecca's chicken and mushroom pie to make an appearance Mmmmmnnn argle argle. It was nice to catch up as I'd been slack with the Evan lunches lately and hadn't seen Bethany for a while. She seems OK, and they seem OK, which is about the best we can hope for.
For Mother's day, we saw my mum on the Saturday for afternoon tea along with G&J. On the actual Mother's day, we gave Cassandra the presents she'd bought on my behalf knowing I wouldn't get time to do it and we made her pancakes for breakfast. Annie fountained spew over me and the lounge in the morning, which set the day off to a funny start. She then hit Cassandra with spew later that day. We were pretty tired after doing the Gramps/Nan->Granny/Pete run so had an easy dinner and put the rest of Mother's day behind us.

The Bad
I've been working weekends a fair bit lately, not for long periods at a time but enough that it has been disruptive on the family. At least I got last Monday off in-lieu to spend with the family. Callum and Annabelle responded well to seeing me for a 'long' weekend (even though I worked for bits of the first two days of it). I kinda need a holiday but I realise it's not even been 3 months since I had a whole month off.
Work wise our company lost a few big contracts which means what I do will be going away in some unknown time-frame (months to years, who knows). We'll need to find new work to justify the amount of staff we have in Wollongong.
Kung Fu attendance has been pretty poor on my behalf and we aren't getting many people to classes anymore. It's really just a Looch/me/Tammy/Justin affair with the PCYC kids. We've spent some time and launched two new six week beginners classes - one for women only and another for everyone. If you are interested in self defence or martial arts in Wollongong then then you really should check us out.
We lost some BF2.
The Ugly
Well, Cassandra was nice enough to cut mine and the boy's hair so at least I don't look like I've been beaten with the ugly stick (just poked a lot). Doing the clippers at home thing is saving us a bucket load of cash in hair dressing fees. Simple things can make a difference.
I find myself increasingly interested in the financial news. I was enjoying watching the news about the latest federal budget tonight which is quite sad really. I've even been enjoying listening to ABC local radio instead of TripleJ. How sad is that? Maybe it's a turning 30 thing, or maybe the timing is coincidence, but I think it's possible I might be a big boy now. Oh can't anyone save me from middle-agedness?
