Brain Dump
So, 'what have I been doing for the last month?' I find myself asking... Well, there was the usual birthday run: Evan (Hog's breath steaks :) mmmm) and Garth (Angelina's Pizzas :) mmmm). Apart from that it was really just life as usual. I'd like to be able to say that something new and exciting happened, but unfortunately it didn't.
I've wasted plenty of time playing Frontlines at night, and with Callum there's been plenty of Peggle and Trackmania. I think he's computer addicted but for now that's OK, as it has been a really hectic month. His reading is coming along well - he can read plenty of words and he is enjoying stories at night. First he gets one read to him and then he gets to read it by himself (i.e. with help). His math skills are good too, he gets the idea of addition and surprisingly subtraction. Sport-wise he loves playing backyard cricket and indoor golf. He'll be 4 next week so we're busy planning for that.
Annabelle is doing her usual thing. We've started her on stewed apples that Cassandra made - she can't get enough of it! She loves sucking on food, toys, fingers etc - anything that is about. Quite different to how Callum was. She takes a real interest in our food, watching it intently from plate to mouth.
I put my own photo on my blog, but I think it looks kinda stupid so I might remove it (or at least rotate it so I am upright). After all, I know what I look like.
Easter happened during March, we (Callum) got a ton of chocolate, which he doesn't really eat much of but likes to know is his. He keeps count of what he has so he would know if any went missing - damn!
Work has been meh - not much new happening, other than the company losing work to other major IT outsourcers and internal shuffles and more off-shoring. I've had a chance to fix up some things that were broken for a long time and in doing so, found more things that need fixing.
Oh yeah, I sprained my ankle again. I was fixing the laundry fly-screen on Easter Monday and though I'd take a shortcut off the back steps. Anyways I was wearing thongs and something went horribly wrong somewhere and I took a tumble. The inner side of the ankle is still sore, but the compression bandage is helping. Plenty of ice and Difflam cream helped too. Oh well, back to strengthening it up again, just when I was looking forward to getting back into training. At least there are no Lion Dances in the short term.
