One Month In

So it's been a while since my last post, mostly because I have enjoyed a bit of time away from thinking about myself too much. A few things have happened in the last month, I guess I should recap:

New Years

New year's eve was pretty quiet - we had planned to go to Grant and Jenna's place but due to several factors including not having established a routine with Annabelle, it was post-poned. Instead we stayed home and tried to sleep. This proved to be difficult due to a noisy night in the neighbourhood (not unexpected though).

It's 2008, I haven't made any plans for the new year. It's going to be business as usual for the foreseeable future, but I do have some short term goals:

  1. Lose some weight - xmas and lack of training have made me fatty fat fat fat and very sluggish.
  2. Regain some fitness - see above, It's still in there, but I need a lot of cardio work to get back where I was - the current plan is running or bike riding - now to find the time... No doubt lion dance season will help.
  3. Promote the PCYC Thursday night class - build it up rather than stagnating due to the status quo.

January

Well, it's been hard trying to work out Annabelle - she's so different to Callum as a baby (as far as I can remember). She cries a lot, and she's always hungry. She can stay awake from 6-8hrs at a time and can also sleep for up to 6hrs at night (so I guess it evens itself out?).

This week

This week has been good. The weekend was spent running around as usual. Saturday night was the post-poned New Year's Eve celebration at Grant and Jenna's. The usual crowd (Alz, Garth, Rebecca) and also Looch, Tim and erm someone else. Twas a good evening with Callum teaching everyone how to play backyard cricket, a nice BBQ and chocolate cake. Annie got restless before it got dark so we were the first to leave. It was a car load of very tired people.

Sunday we visited my parents and then the Hunters afterwards. We ended up staying for dinner as Brad wasn't sure if were were or not. We had barbecued lamb which went down well with everyone. Callum played with Ben and Alannah and again tired himself out. By the time we got home both kids and both parents were over-tired. Although we made the most of our weekend we were about to start the week being behind on sleep, which is never fun.

BF2 wise we've won a few games recently. I even played a game with Annie strapped to my front in the Baby Bjorn which was I guess not chiropractic-ally approved, but fun none the less! She sleeps well in that thing due to being pressed up near a heartbeat - it must feel warm and safe.

I got back to training on Tuesday night and gave my heart a good shake into gear. I felt so much better after training since I'd done basically nothing for a month. A shower and a shave and some food afterwards and with both kids asleep, that's about as good as it gets.

Well, I had plenty more to write, but this will have to do since I'll never finish at this rate!

I'll go bike riding with you.  Where and when?
