Midweek, The First in November

Monday night was the usual off-bin-week - Cassandra's father stayed but Cheryle couldn't make it. I gave Colin the Mortgage choice backup server that I'd configured to run rsync + backuppc backups of their office server remotely. I also configured Samba so that if their office server dies they can just pick up the backup server and take it to the office and keep working.

Mental note: writeup a howto for this in the backuppc wiki.

Tuesday I went to Kung Fu training and dumped down a few hundred dollars of fees that I hadn't counted or banked. Tammy counted it and Looch is going to update the books and bank it. Oh well, at least it's done now and I can cross of one more thing on the ToDo list, even if it wasn't the nicest way of getting it done.

Wednesday Katy came over and spent the afternoon/evening at our house. Callum was really excited and had a good time with her. Since I had a work change on at 17.30, I met them at Kao Gang Thai restaurant for dinner. As usual the food was excellent and the company even better. Cassandra brought Callum's 'black bag' (portable DVD player) since he was already tired. This gave the three adults a nice chance to catch up. Katy is looking really well and it sounds like she is doing really well at work too. I'm glad.

That night I had to be rude and duck of since TP were short our match against some noobs. We ended up losing (being 3 players short in 10v10 is not easy). The first round I got 0 kills and 16 deaths which is my worst ever in a clan match. Turning up 5 mins late (which was worth it to spend time with Katy) and not having pracced for a week or warmed up didn't hellp. Even so one of their players was a bit sus and we are investigating this further. The second round I did OK - managed to nade a dude, knife a sniper then steal their tank, taking it back to our main and holding it for most of the round. We didn't lose by a lot, and if we had one or two more players we would have won. We realise we need to do some recruiting...

Thursday we had an ultra-sound to see baby again. Baby is doing well and has put on some weight. Cassandra is a little scared that she will be a big baby but it's hard to tell at this stage. We found out that baby is a girl! I'm looking forwared to meeting her. I like the idea of a daughter and it will be intersting to see the difference between her and our son.

I also found out that one of the problems with the Gallant is that the transmission is slipping. I'd suspected this for while. Time to book it in for a transmission service to see if that will help it. Thursday night was spent packing for the TP LAN. Bags packed and ready to go I got to sleep around midnight to try and get some sleep before the 6.30am flight.
